In a world full of competitors you are forced to be ahead of the time, providing the never-seen-before features and possibilities for your clients. Demanding tasks are always enjoyable ones for our team and this time was not an exclusion. Our complex 3D planning software with a lot of features, a great idea by one of our clients, turned out to be a useful tool that attracts customers!
What Is Room Visualizer?
Project description. It is a sophisticated yet simple application for a site that allows users to plan their interiors and calculate estimated expenses required to implement their ideas into reality. A user-friendly interface and many options go along with a clear visual representation of the interior clients are building.
- Building interior with simple tools.
- Changing parameters of the items (stairways, windows, doors, etc.).
- Estimating the costs of the project in one click.
- Visualization of the room and its features in 2D (plan) or 3D view.
How Does It Work?
It is often more important to invite a client on a virtual tour leading them step by step through the whole process of planning. Without proper visualization it is hard to explain what the most efficient ways are to implement various pieces of architecture in their house.
On top of the problem of visualizing the ideas there is another aspect: how to make a client choose your company amongst all the competitors. One of the easiest ways is to allow them to build their own ideas on your software. We all know where they come after!
We decided to split the attention of the clients in 4 different aspects of the application.
Introduction and planning. We allow clients to build an easy layout of rooms and create a close estimation of how big of a house they want to build. At this moment client wants to play with a new toy and we provide a simple interface with a lot of clickable objects. It is important to keep users busy and allow them to inspect the features.
Messing around with objects. The application now gives clients an opportunity to choose any important components of the building or room: doors, windows, stairways, furniture, and much more. We allow them to put as many objects as they want. This way the clients are more engaged to try clicking everything and sorting things out later.
Visual representation. Freshly planned projects immediately change their outlook in the main frame of the application. Clients can easily switch from 2D view to 3D view. Looking at the result of your own creativity is satisfying.
With 3D view users can browse through different wallpapers and floorings and each change in options is updated in real time.
Giving them numbers. Our 3D planning software has an integrated calculator that estimates how much it will cost for the clients to build the projects they created. Having such estimations is important both for users and for product owners since it allows both parties to bargain around a particular sum.
Obviously, clients are more inclined to contact a contractor who presents them with some estimations before their first meeting.
What Did We Do?
To develop and implement such application our team had to overcome several difficulties and generate creative solutions. The project demanded us to:
- Optimize back-end;
- Integrate new features to CMS;
- Develop a complex application from scratch;
- Audit UI and perform UX-studies.
At the end of the day, we built an engaging web-application that fully covered our client’s demands.
